Doctor Who Confidential axed by BBC Three, Doctor Who Confidential has been axed by the BBC as part of its Delivering Quality First initiative cuts initiative.The weekly behind-the-scenes show - which airs on BBC Three after the sci-fi series is broadcast on BBC One - will not continue beyond the current series due to budget cuts of 20 per cent across the broadcaster's entire output as part of its Delivering Quality First initiative.In a statement, a BBC spokeswoman said: "Doctor Who Confidential has been a great show for BBC Three over the years, but our priority now is to build on original British commissions, unique to the channel."
The spin-off programme was launched in 2005 when the series was brought back to TV and contains interviews with the cast - which includes Matt Smith who plays the Doctor - crew, writers, special effects team and various on set segments.
The final episode of Doctor Who Confidential will air this Saturday on BBC Three, immediately after the Series 6 finale The Wedding of River Song. Doctor Who Confidential axed by BBC Three
