Seinfeld's Frances Bay dies At 92
Seinfeld’s Frances Bay dies At 92, Character actress Frances Bay — best known as the woman who battled Jerry Seinfeld for that famous loaf of marble rye in Seinfeld — died Thursday in Los Angeles, The New York Times reports. She was 92.

Bay’s cousin, Marly Zaslow, confirms the actress died as a result of complications from pneumonia.
Born Frances Goffman, Bay began her career as a radio actress, but left the industry to marry and start a family. Bay made her film debut in Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase’s 1978 comedy Foul Play, before going on to appear in more than 150 other projects.

In addition to her Seinfeld appearance, Bay — who frequently starred in sweet old lady roles — also played Adam Sandler’s grandmother in Happy Gilmore and Arthur Fonzarelli’s grandmother on Happy Days.
Bay was last seen in a recurring role on ABC’s The Middle as recently as this year.
